The Five Day Film Challenge is coming! Mountain Craft Productions is teaming up with FestivAll to bring an interactive and fun filmmaking experience to Charleston. Our goal is to raise awareness about filmmaking as an art-form and to draw attention to West Virginia's local filmmaking community and filmmakers-to-be. Also, we don't know about you, but we think it sounds like a lot of fun!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Participants of the Five Day Film Challenge will have five days to write, shoot, and edit a short film. Then, during FestivAll's opening weekend, we'll host a screening of the films at The Bakery (1007 Bigley Avenue). The screening will be free to the public, so invite your friends! We'll have a panel of judges scoring the films, and after the screening we'll announce winning films in four cetegories. Cash prizes will be awarded as well as other perks!

On our screening night, we will have a panel of judges who will score each film in a number of categories. The scores will be tallied and the winners in each of the following categories will be awarded a cash prize and certificate:
We've partnered up with a couple West Virginia film festivals to offer a unique perk to the winner of our "Best Film" category: If your film wins the Five Day Film Challenge, then you will enjoy a free, automatic acceptance into both the Plum Tuckered Film Festival in Davis, WV and the Cut to the Chase Film Festival in Shepherdstown, WV!
In addition, all participants of the Five Day Film Challenge will receive a coupon code for a discounted submission fee into the Plum Tuckered Film Festival.
We want to help you get your films seen by a larger audience, so we're very pleased that our friends at these two festivals will help enable your film to travel the state!
Our film challenge is open to any WV-based person/team who wishes to participate.
Films made for the Five Day Film Challenge will be assigned three random "prompts" that must be included in the films. One prompt per film will be drawn from the following three categories: prop, dialogue, wildcard.
Films must be 5 minutes in duration or shorter.
The contest begins Thursday, June 7th at noon and ends Tuesday, June 12th at noon. The screening/awards happens at 6:00pm on Saturday, June 16th.
The films will be judged by a panel of judges and winners will be announced on the 16th after the screening.
